Eyes of the Soulbound

Overview

Starry-eyed traveler Opal Maritza-Santin was hoping to go big in her writing career, planning to travel all parts of the world and publish a journal of her experiences. (Un)fortunately for him, he was starred in the story of a lifetime-- tasked by the Divine to lead a rather unorthodox group of heroes and save the world from the Archmage Percion.

...However, what Opal believes to be a simple fable of a hero defeating a villain, turns out to be a much more sinister tale, one that turns everything she's ever known upside-down.

A ragtag group of travelers led by Opal Maritza-Santin. They may get into all sorts of trouble and their methods can be unorthodox to say the least..... but in the name of Their Divinity they are determined to find the truth behind the face-stealings in Petrastela.

Chapter of the Tiger's Eye

The first Chapter and the start of our heroine's adventure. After being involved in a divine intervention, Opal and her new teammates struggle to fight various monsters in Verdalia as they start out on their journey, as well as getting tangled up in a mishap between royal families from Verdalia and Auremos.

Chapter of the Cat's Eye

The second Chapter and the second part of our heroine's adventure. Starting out in a new area, with a new group of teammates, and new powers to adjust to, Opal travels through the region of Auremos as she continues her journey. During all this, a mischievous god is released from its vessel and wreaks havoc on the people of the land.

Chapter of the Hawk's Eye

The third Chapter and the third part of our heroine's adventure. Once again being forced to start anew, Opal comes to the magical Realm of the Fey, stumbling into new problems this time with her newest set of companions. While beautiful-- much darker secrets haunt the magical home of the fairies. Through helping a family of sisters finally put closure on their troubled past, she's only one step away to defeating Percion.

Chapter of the Opal

The fourth Chapter and the fourth part of our heroine's adventure. With nothing but newfound determination and a fan, Opal is forced to go out alone in the scorching hot lands of Karkaton, planning to stop all of Percion's plans and saving the companions who had helped her all the way through her journey, one by one.

Tongran

Chapter of the Soulbound

The final Chapter and the end of our heroine's adventure. Opal and her team must now face their worst threat yet, as they relive many of the worst memories in their lives and endure more. In the process, they begin to puzzle the pieces and learn the harsh truths hiding beneath the people they've trusted and fought. For the sake of the world, Opal must finally put an end to all this story, once and for all.

A collection of Stories from the Past; These are characters that are only relevant in the backstories of the main cast. They provide more context or lore to the overall story or the stories of others. For a general warning however, it's safe to assume majority of characters in this folder are deceased.

Magic

Source

Magic is something that flows through all of Theikah's creations in varying amounts. Through every creation they make, a little bit of magic is put into them in order for them to breathe life, the earth, monsters and animals, even people hold the capabilities of magic within them. However, it is extremely difficult for one to awaken such power in the first place, only a select few are able to create their own magic. For this reason, The most common form of magic is through the use of Soulstones, special rocks that Theikah bestows upon only the worthy, to awaken the powers within.

Abundance

In retrospect, magic is everywhere. It is by no means a finite resource, however the ability to actually harness that power and create more is very difficult. This makes magic quite limited if you don't consider Soulstones, and even those are scarce since Theikah only grants it to certain people. This lack of magic has led to a lot of strife and issues concerning the theft of Soulstones, and even those who try tracking down the Charm that holds Theikah inside to try and force the birth of newer Soulstones.

Acquisition

If one is deemed worthy by Theikah, then they are most likely to get a Soulstone. Sometimes Soulstones are also passed down through families or exchanged amongst others. Those who awaken the powers inside them on their own are ones who have undergone extremely intense training, most commonly are the elves and fairies from the Realm of the Fey. It also is a matter of passing down magic capabilities, as some people are more capable than others when it comes to awakening without a Soulstones. Recent technology in Aetherain has allowed for the artificial creation of Soulstones as well, made with shards and pieces of real ones combined together, although these are not as powerful as natural ones.

Awakening

When it comes to the birth of ones powers, the type of power they get directly correlates to the type of person they are. Their life, beliefs, hopes, dreams, desires, all are factors of determining ones powers. Even if one does not currently fit the qualities of that class, it can sometimes represent the type of person they dream of being. Over time though, certain powers became more prominent, and some were used in certain occupations, situations or customs more than others. Because of this, the powers one receives from an awakening have been labeled as different "classes". There are 14 core classes overall, with some subcategories holding the wills of multiple classes at once, but not much is known about those subcategories.

Classes

Swordmaster

A class defined by strength, courage, and a desire to protect. Those who harness the power of the swordmaster are known for being individuals with something to protect or build upon. They are predominantly powerful in physical strength while lacking in magical strength, but they are usually dependable individuals who will stop at nothing to aid the ones they care for or dedicate themselves to. In many regions, people will sometimes hire swordmasters as guards or soldiers.

Sorcerer

A class defined by curiosity, intensity and an awareness of ones environment. Sorcerers are usually extremely powerful when it comes to magical strength, with an ability to harness the power of elements or earth. This means that most sorcerers must have an understanding of what is around them, and use that to the best of their abilities. They are oftentime unpredictable as they range in a variety of spells, and the occupations that most sorcerers take can vary because of their adaptability.

Mender

A class defined by love, healing and consideration for people. Known best as healers, Menders have a specialty in curing illness, disease, injury and more. Those who are Menders are loving, what they love varies, but they are individuals who care for something and want to support that thing with all of their might, pushing you back up when you get down and making sure you're okay. Many Menders tend to work in the health field, unsurprisingly, as nurses, doctors, and more.

Rogue

A class defined by stealth, agility and insightfulness of others. Although they are sometimes frowned upon for the reputation that a few have given them, Rogue are not merely about stealing or thievery. They are talented and intelligent individuals, able to assess those around them with ease and know just where to aim when interacting or fighting with little to no effort. Some are known for being in jobs requiring strategy, tactics, excellent dexterity, handiness, and such. It's actually not all that common to see a Rogue that is actually a thief of some sort.

Performer

A class defined by expression, charm, and influencing those around them. Performers are often enthusiastic and influential individuals. They hope to spread their message to anyone whether they are listening or not, with a strong set of beliefs. They are dedicated to the people, and wish for a better world by spreading their own hope and justice. In most areas, Performers are usually artists of some kind, musicians, authors, painters, and more. In others they can be influencers or leaders.

Culinarian

A class defined by creation, passion and a sense of pride in ones self. Excelling mostly magically, these are people that love to create, make something with their hands and show their creations to the world. In some cases, it can be said Culinarians create out of love in some way. The skills that come from this class are odd though, as it can vary heavily on one's own culinary skill sets. Those that cook well are good with healing while those that struggle work better offensively. It is no surprise though that a vast majority of Culinarians tend to be in culinary fields of work, while a small chunk sometimes work in other creative fields such as art, music or writing.

Summoner

A class defined by alertness, independence yet a deep connection to life. This class is one that is truly in-tune with its surroundings, often astute and attentive with all that is around them from people to animals to the world around them. They tend to be lovers of the world, or those that are deathly afraid of life itself, or perhaps even a mix of both. They're not known for being magic users so to speak, but this class is unique in that it can connect with the hearts of monsters to aid them. For this reason they're often called Monster Tamers as well. Some will hire this class for this specialty specifically.

Trickster

A class defined by a free-spirit, individuality and the desire to follow ones heart. Although this is a class that has a mixed reputation for being mischievous in nature, it is one that ultimately speaks of freedom and individuality. Tricksters go by the beat of their own drum, they don't want to be held back by rules or societal standards and find that the best life is one that's lived to the fullest. Many Tricksters take on jobs as public speakers, activists, and the like.

Scientist

A class defined by innovation, imagination and an ability to think for ones self. Scientists are hard-workers, diligent people that have a mind of their own. Their creativity knows no bounds and when put to the task-- they're capable of coming up with sometimes unconventional but unique and fulfilling solutions. To no ones surprise, scientists are usually those invested in the field, but sometimes it can just apply to people who fit the characteristic traits. It's not unusual for a scientist to be someone with a creative and artistic sense, such as an artist.

Tank

A class defined by power, efficiency and an ability to take charge or action. These are the strong-hearted brawns of the classes, alongside Swordmasters of course, whom they often work hand-in-hand with. Tanks hold the power of long-range attacks, using firearms and beams as a main choice of weapon usually. They're a sign of power and resistance, and usually people will employ those of this class for militarian reasons, being the first on the battlefield in some places. Their true cores lie in defense, given their namesake. Often though, Tanks tend to be frowned upon as some have a far more... destructive and wild type of power that can be easily misheld, but under the right person-- they are formidable individuals with much responsibility.

Luminary

A class defined by leadership, decisiveness and a confidence in ones abilities. As beacons of hope, those who are Luminaries try their best to look out for everyone around them, moving forward for everyone to follow and keeping their head up high in times of difficulty. They make the hard choices that not many would make and hope to instill confidence in the others around them through their own. Many Luminaries are known to take up roles of leadership or jobs where important decisions must be made.

Druid

A class defined by effort, growth and the ability to change ones self or their world. Those who are of this class either have a desire for change in the world, or even just in themselves. They often have a healing touch, in some manner or way, and are quite gentle in nature. Usually they act as support, but others are able to harness the much more brutal side of nature instead. It's highly common amongst druids to already like nature, plants and the like, so it isn't peculiar for them to take on work relating to that field. Sometimes rarely there have been druids taking on roles of public speaking as well though.

Vampire

A class defined by revival, willfulness, and resistance to what is expected of someone. Lurking in the shadows, the strange wielders of the Vampire class aren't known all too well, given it is the least populated class of them all. It is shrouded in mystery so to speak, and whether these people were ones actually resurrected from the dead or had gained these powers through their own inner will, is mostly unknown. The least that is known is that these individuals are unpredictable, they cannot be held down by anything or anyone, even death itself.

Ranger

A class defined by beauty, adaptability and a sense of duty to ones responsibilities. Rangers are kind at heart, pragmatic individuals who see the world as it is in front of them and work hard, using their environments to their advantage. With their bow and arrows, they're a beautiful yet powerful class with peculiar magical abilities. This class is the only one that is not necessarily granted by a Soulstone, rather being enhanced by it by those who are already born elves typically in the Realm of the Fey.
