ABOUT

Hapii's adopted daughter, and Lehife's niece. Taking much after her mother, Anan is very sweet and kind-hearted in nature, with a bit of bluntness yet also naivete of course, although that's to be fairly expected given she's still very young.

She is a very big fan of dance, and spends a lot of time with Walevi in particular learning how to do ballet amongst other forms of dance. When she's not busy with occassionally helping her mother out, she'll try to practice dance out in Citrus Cave. She even got Lady Inacre to help her with her practice! All seemed well and fine, until one day she and Lady Inacre encountered an unusual swarm of spiders within the cave...

• Anan's Zodiac Sign is Libra.

• Although the story takes place in a fictional setting, Anan is coded to be of Ethiopian/Portuguese ancestry.

• Her first name, Anan, is a name of Hebrew or Arabic origin meaning "cloud" or "vapor". Her last name, Arling, is a name of German origin meaning "Eagle".

• Anan was supposed to be siblings with Hapii and Lehife, having a much different design and also not intended on being a living character much like Hapii at the time as well. That was also changed in favor for her becoming Hapii's adopted daughter instead and both were rewritten to be currently alive characters. Both Hapii and Anan grew on me a lot so I'm happy with this change.
